I said it was "simple". It didn't say it was trivial.
The option you suggest (now) has a comparatively low chance of success.

You are also making certain assumptions.
a) that marriage was registered in India.
b) that marriage was registered.
c) That marriage records have not been destroyed /rendered inaccessible..

To sweeten the challenge, I'll stake Rs.1,000 as prize.
(Challenge No. 2 will have Rs.2,000)
