Re: [HumJanenge] RTI Activists in Kolkata

Mr. Sarabjit,

No need to be Government Spokesperson. Everybody knows the proposed amendment is to make RTI Act weak so people must not be able to seek transparency.

If somebody has fear, can ask people from other state to help

What is this nonsense about "risk" ? If you are scared then please don't file RTIs.

How can you ask someone else to take risk on your behalf ? Finally, it is
precisely because of such "risky" RTIs that the Govt plans to dilute the RTI Act
or its Rules to the detriment of genuine information seekers, and is defaming
us by calling us blackmailers and vexatious 'activists".

You are also advised to read the regulations of this group. Particularly about
fostering brotherly feelings between RTI users and organising collective action
through emails.

Friends, Will it be more risk free and will it be more meaningful, if a directory of RTI Activists, throughtout India is compiled by some one and each active RTI organisation of each state have a copy of this information.   Any application which is risky and needs co-operation, each associations in each State can also apply to the same informatin which is being pursued by the peson under risk so that his risk is totally reduced if not avoided.   The suggestion can be considered properly and without bindings.
