[rti4empowerment] SBI worst than Swiss Bank

After the KYC has been made mandatory, the Bank must reply to the RTI application but it has thousand of branches and will take long time to complile the list.  I suggest you to ask same thing confined to the branches located in one city at a time.  If no reply or unsatisfactory reply, proceed further.  KYC is an important tool to stop fraud.

I have two accounts, self and wife's in SBI and also 4 PPF accounts.  I appreciate its adherence to rules and working.  Now, it has started advance technology and has connected all the saving and PPF accounts via computer. Bank has not changed my residential address as I did not have any proof of new address.  Now, I have received new voter id card and the addresse will be changed but on this score, I do not have any grudge against Bank.  Though, sometime, little carelessness in transfer of funds as my wife witnessed this twoce but after on-line complaint, the matter was resorted to her satisfaction.

Adherence to rules means no or lesser fraud though little inconvenience.

Dear Leslie
Well done . Keep it up and keep us informed. I am also submitting an appl to SBI, Neredmet Br , Secunderabad replicating your appl. I am sure a wave of RTI appl will be submitted to various branches of SBI,to unearth BLACK MONEY which is used by the white collar Maoists to incite DARA SINGHS etc.

Filed RTI application, in september 2010, to Local Branch State Bank of India
requesting information on names of account holders of which i too am a account holder.
if  know your coustomer ( KYC) complied with, how many accounts have as yet not filed KYC as per reserve bank account, name/address of 1st appellate authority They phoned to say they need some time, after 3 months in December 2010 i again put RTI application asking for same, no response to my querie, nor even given me 1st appeals address, I am of the opinion that this No 1 Nationalised Bank is having maximum Benami accounts and are thus not parting with information. I am now filing 1st appeal ( found SBI 1st appeallate authority on SBI website and will follow up with 2nd appeal if the nedd arises
