Re: [rti4empowerment] Re: [rti_india] REQUEST CIC ADDRESS CLARIFICATION

CIC  tracking facility is only for appeals submitted online. Even for the case of online appeals you are required to send a hard copy by speedpost. So the optimum solution would have been to file your appeal online and tracked the speedpost delivery from the Indiapost website.

Listing of cases is arbitrary. Some commisisonerss are running with only a 3-4 month backlog, others are running 3 years behind schedule.  Depending on the public authority you have appealed against, you should be able to estimate the time to list your matter.

Hi Sarbajit/Anybody,

What's the following from an unknown sender:-

post office do not accept second appeals to CIC.

post office only accepts initial application and first appeals.

Pls. clarify who is right.

Clarifications pls.:-
Now, after sending the CIC Appeal by Speed Post from Bangalore, will any of the CIC staff have the courtesy to send across a 'Reference No.' by Post or through other means or is there some stuff on their website to track the status of the CIC Appeal?  I heard that it's a 6 month waiting period for the Appeal Hearing Date.  Is it true?  Atleast some sort of Reference No., Tracking system, Communication, Interaction will be useful, if not, one will be in the dark for around 6 months and later if there are any procedural mistakes by the RTI Applicant, it'll be a waste of time.  I guess that you are based in Delhi, near CIC.  Pls. clarify the Procedure.

CHEERS!
