Re: [HumJanenge] NGO "Haramis"

Then directly call them 'Parasites' . If a king keeps a 'Harem' , women are mostly passive carriers of his children and does not hold any ownership actually. I echo your sentiments and sometimes we use such words in personal conversation too but continuously using a particular word on a public platform is not advisable in my views.
Let us start putting the points straight in political terms which is more hard hitting and educative for us all.
 Warmly,
Kiran

Dear Kiran

I have noted (carefully) your comments. The "H" term conveys precisely my "resentment" (or to put it better "my anger") in the matter. I view a specific set of  RTI activist NGOs (and this is with an open acknowledgment that there are also GOOD NGOs who are doing EXCELLENT work with selfless people under tough conditions) as "brood parasites" like the female common cuckoo who lays her eggs in nests made by others and take over the common spaces by pushing the rightful owners out.

I agree with your right to express your resentment, sarabjit. My only point is we have more politically correct abuses or non parliamentarian utterances for the elements we may disapprove politically. The word 'Harami' or 'Bastard' is a sexist word by all means and question the biological law of reproduction. Don't Hum Janenge have more social responsibility than others?

Over the years many people have objected to my use of the term "harami" on this group (and its precursor - RTI_India).
These late comers have no idea why we use this term.

The terms "harami" is most definitely not "Parliamentary" for the reason that the languages it comes from are not the language of any Parliament of India. From Hindusthani and Arabic the terms simply means and is openly and widely understood to mean "thieving bastards".

So when I say "NGO harami" it encompasses the entire class of parasites known as NGO who are destroying the RTI movement in India. The members of this class are  lazy (but clever) good for nothings and should be recognised and dealt with as such. If you see a thief cut off his hands, if you see an NGO harami cut off his tongue.

If anyone has any doubts on this, I shall only give the example of late Rahul Mangaonkar and the shameless (and completely despicable) antics after his demise carried out by these NGO haramis in his name. Whenever I think of NGOs, Rahul's example always serves to remind me what haramis these NGOs are.
