I assure you that such a law exists. Because IndiaCode website
has an illegible copy, you may google for it using following search terms
"no marriage contracted whether before or after the commencement of
this Act shall be invalid by reason only of the fact that either or
both of the parties at any time belonged at any time before the
marriage belonged to a religion other than Hinduism"
The said law is also valid in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
