Re: [IAC#RG] Open letters (2) to Gen V.K. Singh

To:
Genl (Retd) V.K.Singh.

Copy for advance information to : Mr. R.K. Singh (CGM/Technical/NHAI)

I am again caused to send you an open email to seek clarifications on how India Against Corruption movement can progress with your corrupt and undisciplined ex-Army supporters - this time under command of a Lt.Col (Retd) Brijender Khokar (allegedly also a Team Anna 2.0 committee member).

I refer of course to the incident on or about 9.Jan.2013 where about 11 vehicles under command of Lt Col (Retd) Khokhar with armed private personnel bulldozed their way through about 9 NHAI toll plazas/booths without paying toll on the NH-8 in Gujarat, until they were stopped by a brave and upright officer Ajaysinh Thakore at Karjan.

The newspapers have quoted your boy as follows -

"We requested them to waive our toll charges as we had taken out a rally to support Anna. Our charges were waived off at every toll booth but the Karjan booth manager even refused to meet us. He simply refused and asked his security personnel to take charge," Khokhar told TOI over phone."

I'm sure that Col Khokhar was a lion in Gujarat because of your outfits close links with Mr Narendra Modi - the CM whose State Police got your people released.

I am formally calling upon you to report if you claim any connection with the India Against Corruption people's movement - as we do not tolerate such misbehaviour and corruption (eg. depriving Govt of lawful revenues under coercion) especially from unknown people like this Khokhar who (like yourself) have no known background / history in publicly fighting corruption, and if so what your excuses or rules for seeking exemption from paying toll tax, if any, is in this matter - and also why the public/citizens were harassed by delays and jams caused by your boys.

yours etc

Sir,

I am caused to address these emails to you, because 2 or 3 of your IESM ex-Army supporters have been extremely abusive on the IAC mailing list recently. - We don't blame them because unfortunately declining standards - especially on the quality of input - has resulted in a situation where we have more "officers" but fewer "gentlemen" in our armed forces today.

Sir,
On or about Nov 1 2012 you shared the same platform as Mr. Om Prakash Chauthala near Rewari. He is from your State of Haryana. I am sure as a proud Haryanvi you sincerely believed he (and his sons) are honest persons. Unfortunately the dishonest Indian Legal system, the same legal system which rejected many PILs filed on your behalf, has today held this father and son duo to be corrupt persons and convicted and arrested them under the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Sir,
I am also given to understand that yesterday you led a candle-light march in Patna where you announced that IAC as a party of 'aam aadmis' is entering politics and would be recommending "clean" candidates. I am very surprised that you could make such a preposterous statement.

Accordingly, in view of your self evidently poor track record of identifying "clean" persons and your non-existent record of success in fighting corruption, I would sincerely request you, as your junior (in age) to reflect on the damage being caused to the ancient and honorable institution of the Indian Army by your "antics" and to the Indian nation (which is exposed to the threat of a "manufactured" mini-war to save the corrupt political classes on both sides of the border) by your inappropriate utterances.

yours faithfully
