RE: [IAC#RG] Disinvestment

Operations of Insurance sector are opaque and LIC is the dominant players'
In the past there were allegations that LIC invested funds in companies at the behest of political bosses.
During last 3 disinvestment s of Coal India, Copper Corporation and now NPTC the Govt. has resorted to online share allotment. They simply take the previous day closing as the base, and when the shares remain unsold, LIC acts as the saviour and buys all the remaining shares at the fixed rate and the Govt. claims successful disinvestment.
Surely operations of LIC should be looked into by CAG to unearth financial wrongdoings

LIC is a very long term contrarian player. They make lots of money when the market is in their favour. Serious long term investors track (and follow) LIC.

Hi,

Has anyone noticed how public sector companies like the LIC where the common man has parked his life savings is mopping up shares of loss making public sector companies which come up for disinvestment?.

Are we going to face another UTI fiasco in the near future?.
