Re: [IAC#RG] Final Opinion Poll results

Dear Vineet

I know many highly intelligent CAs, and I know that many CAs are some of the most innovative and creative persons (and also good writers of fiction) who you can find.

Unfortunately there are other CAs who only know +/- and %age keys on their calculators. Especially %age key.

Let us see which category you are in

THEORY:
http://www.ieee.org/about/research/sample.html
"Notice that as the population exceeds 10,000 the sample size hardly increases. Although this is contrary to common sense, this has been statistically proven and is common research procedure."

PRACTICAL
http://www.surveysystem.com/sscalc.htm
use 95% and 164/25,000 => confidence interval = 7.5% for RANDOM selections. key word is "random"

Q.E.D.

PS: I don't smoke or drink liquor. Rosgollas are always welcome.

PPS: many persons got the right answer >99% about piddling in your water. Nobody (ie., not even 1) selected <1% option.

The reply shows your Frustration and arrogance, how u calculate margin of error is 7% when, only 0.7% voters only used the vote, that 164 out of 25000 subscribers, I don't know from where are u, but it seems to me u r a Bengali and u think u is the most knowledgeable and intelligent creature in this world, let eat Rosshogulla and smoke ........and think whatever u like,

A PERSON WHO DO NOT LISTEN TO HIS/HER CRITICS NEVER GET IMPROVED.

Dear Vineet

I was surprised that despite your claiming to be a CA your knowledge of basic maths / statistics is so poor. (Then I saw you are from Agra).

Assuming there are 25,000 subscribers to this mailing list, the resultant maths of a sample size of 164 from 25,000 means that the margin of error is only 7% as compared to if all 25,000 had been polled.

Now here is another query to test your maths/stats/probs

What is the probability that the cup of tea/coffee/water you drunk today contains water which was piddled by me.

a) less than 1%
b) More than 99%

This is a serious query.
