Re: [IAC#RG] FW: UPA exposed to average Indians - Chitra Subramanian Duella

Dear Air Commodore Pannu

The reason we don't discuss Bofors nowadays is a mundane one.

As per our last month's internal statistics  48.6% of Indian voters in 2014 were born before the Bofors scandal broke and 39.2% of the remainder don't give a rats arse about Bofors when it comes to voting.

If you really want to know what voters are concerned about (and I dont believe fake surveys in paid media - but rely instead on IAC's own detailed ground level inputs) - POVERTY, INFLATION, RELIGION, CASTE, INSECURITY, CRIME, DRUGS, EKING OUT EXISTENCE, COPING WITH MONEY LENDERS and so on. "Corruption" is a symptom of all these and not the disease.

Dear Mr Sarbajit,

I am not convinced with your reply. My belief that you are hung up on Modi is getting stronger day by day. Your references to Modi alone confirms this.
Secondly, your soft corner for Congress seems to be evident from your silence on Chitra Subramanian's interview (Titled Quattrocchi's Gravy Trian), completely devoted to Bofors Deal. Inspite of my pointing out that Mr Kumar probably erred in clubbing it with Kedarnath problem, you have found it convenient to ignore it. Wonder how otherwise the complete story appearing in Kumar's email escaped your notice.
I feel there is a need on your part to be sensitive to readers' feelings. You need to assure that the moderators do not suppress any stories. If they do, it amounts to censorship. It seems evident from some mails that anything derogatory to Congress is being withheld; this must be based on their experiences.
Lastly, it seems to me that you have unnecessarily enlarged the scope/purview of IAC by giving an indication that you can investigate and correct the politicians.  At one stage when some of us pointed out that we should not discuss religion here, you emphatically
said "NO". With your limited resources, I feel you are trying to eat more than what you can digest. Please give it a thought.
Regards.
Air Commodore (Retd) T Pannu
