More often than not, a recipe is used because it successfully delivers a solution hence not knowing the theory is neglected.

RUM was given to soldiers as they were exposed to gun powder fumes from rifles and cannons.  It addressed nitrate toxicity which would build up in their bodies while also preventing them from queasiness when bayoneting the enemy and seeing blood and more...

By the same logic, the municipalities should give free RUM ration to workers who pick up stinking toxic garbage and ride the trucks to the dumping grounds.

The Generals who planned war moves would sip the best Scotch well diluted with spring water as it would clear their minds, even giving them intuitive and sometimes clairvoyant powers.   Air quality was important hence Generals were always stationed in places where it was naturally good.

The Catholic Church understood these properties and wine was brewed in the church cellars in special wooden casks, offered during Sunday Mass to the parishioners in small quantity after blessing it ( just the same way that TIRTH is offered in SHIVA temples in India )

Home brewed liquour made from flowers and fruit was prepared by women for their men, did not cause any issues.  Natural toddy consumption did not provoke men to beat up their wives.

Good quality home brewed alcohol was till recently extensively used by Sikh truck drivers to stay awake while driving long distances on bad Indian roads.

Today, we see issues in civilian society because of industrially prepared alcohol and poor quality water.

The consumption of alcohol in the armed forces has a sound logic and technical reasons, hence should not be confused with conclusions drawn from observations in civilian society.

The wine industry is being promoted in civilian society by the Maharashtra Government with better understanding of the impact of alcohol on avoiding violent behaviour after drinking cheaper distillates of the alcohol industry.

Unless nutrition is better understood, toxicity management will continue to be misunderstood and unhealthy human behaviour will continue to threaten the peace of communities around the world.

Separately;

The use of CNG & LPG can be equated to chemical warfare as there is a definite co relation between violence against women and its increasing use in Indian Metropolitan Cities.   The benefits as a fuel outweigh the inconvenience of revealing the toxic impact of hazardous baggage these fuels carry with them.
