Dear Brig. Seshadri

Can you please explain to me in simple (non-emotional/apolitical) language WHY this citizen friendly RTI Amendment Bill which abundantly clarifies that Political Parties are NOT public authorities (but are private bodies) as presently defined in RTI Act 2005 should be resisted ?

I view this Bill as a tremendous advancement towards the citizens securing information about political parties under the Right to Information.

I have chosen my words very carefully, and as an expert in RTI and RTI Act.

PS: As a retired staff officer I am sure you would still retain some of that officer training which taught you to filter out the signal from the noise on this issue (which is being generated by a small section of anti-national NGO persons closely associated with the Congress Party who claim to be 'thekedars' of RTI).
