Re: [IAC#RG] I AM NOT YOUR WIFE

Dear Mr Gaur

I was making the point that there are persons like Shastriji or
LokNayak JP who are widely acknowledged symbols of honesty and
patriotism. In Jana Sangh, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee or Nanaji Deshmukh
etc had same clean / patriotic reputation.

The problem is that such persons are not there today (or at least are
not so well known) and the environment has completely changed with
lower moral standards generally. For eg. we get emails upholding
Subramanian Swamy as today's standard bearer for honesty (really).

The reason for the decline is not far to seek - PARLIAMENT and Vidhan
Sabhas and all their supporting offices. They are filled with mediocre
and semi-literate people who are nothing but party rubberstamps who
give a damn for the country..

Personally I raised Shastri's name because he is a star of HRA. By
God's grace I was also near Lok Nayak JP for over a year during the
Emergency (I was a teenager of about 14 then) and that definitely
shaped my future development.

IAC will support nobody - we are apolitical. Our agenda is on hold due
to elections, as time is not ripe and everybody is clinging to their
beliefs/false gods. After the voting for supprters of every winner
there will be 3 losers who will listen to us ;-)

The HRA however, is another kettle of fish. They have a solid mainly
Hindu/Sikh vote bank of about 1.8% of India's total voters,
concentrated in 4-5 Upper Indian States and which votes reliably (90%+
turnout) and in a highly strategic / tactical manner (because they are
effectively about 9-15% actual voting population in their
states/pockets). Because they vote en-bloc their voting pattern is
often similar to that of other minorities like Muslims (basic Game
Theory) who go with outright winners or else force close contests.

Since HRA is a secretive highly patriotic and secular formation, I
suspect it is unlikely they will give blanket support (blank cheque)
to a BJP under Modi or an INC under Rahul, but would prefer to support
on a case by case basis or to support some other winning formation
totally.
