Why this Minister's utterances should be taken with a large pinch of salt

04-August-2014, 11:18 PM IST by Sarbajit

It is very surprising that MoS Finance Nirmala Sitharaman  (who as a long-term spokesperson for the BJP would be expected to know better) is being quoted in her in-house rag ("The Asian Age") as saying today "Banks refuse National Intelligence Grid access to consumer data"

This shows the absolute contempt the BJP has for India's RTI activists.

Vox Populi asks "Is the Hon'ble Minister so ignorant of governance during the time of UPA-II, that she doesn't recall that RTI activist Venkatesh Nayak of CHRI had got the same information using RTI as far back as 2011 ?"

Anyway, NATGRID has apparently issued NATGRID's rejoinder to Asian Age to Ms. Sitharaman (on which I have commented here : NATGRID MHA scam) and this all goes to show that there is no difference between the BJP and the Congress when it comes to being led up the garden path by babudom a-la "Yes Minister" who continually recycle their old wine in new bottles to achieve the babudom's holy grail .. [creative inertia] .
