I agree with Mr. Vakharia.  Apart from the perks and priveleges granted by the Constitution, our legislators and parliamentarians right upto Sarpanches of villages and even their cronies enjoy all sorts of freebies with impunity in the name of VIPs. Any wonder if some of the sarpanches have multiplied their wealth and assets more times than their own party MPs and MLAs, in the past few years! Because they never pay any taxes nor anybody can question them. Let's organize ourselves and start questioning the sudden rise in the assets of all politicians and bureaucrats.  We can begin with scrutinising the affidavits filed by the contesting candidates in any election declaring their assets and pending criminal cases.

Dear All.

In India we believe in all types of discrimination.
All are not equal. and we are accepting it.
Why Ministers, MLAs and other political persons are exempted from Paying Tax.
Why they should get somany things free..
Why we should not protest against all these. then politicians may think of doing something else.
they don't pay Tax and make so much money in few years and nobody questions them.
If politicians are taxed, tax structure will change.
Hope people will agree with that.

Dear All

Greetings!

The Union Budget for 2015-16 will be presented on February 28th, 2015.

HAQ: Centre for Child Rights has been undertaking analysis of budgetary allocations for children every year. This year, as we at HAQ, get ready to critically analyse the Union budget again we have prepared an article and highlighted the key points from a child rights perspective.

The government has already highlighted its priority areas for the budget and has talked about significant tax reforms, smart cities, skill development, women's security, budget for the social sector, among other things. But this time they will be expected to be more cautious in their planning as the "Aam Aadmi" can no longer be ignored!

Among the "Aam Aadmi" is the "Aam Bachha", whose needs require special attention since budget analysis undertaken by HAQ: Centre for Child Rights and other groups working towards strengthening governance and accountability have shown how children's rights have remained on the periphery, while they constitute 40% of the country's population.

You can read the article titled 'POLITICS, PAISA OR PRIORITIES: WHERE WOULD CHILDREN FIT INTO THE 2015-16 UNION BUDGET?' on our website. Please click on http://www.haqcrc.org/blogs/politics-paisa-or-priorities to access the article.

I do hope that you will find the information useful. Your comments and suggestions will be appreciated.
