Sir,

Sub: Request for urgent and voluntary transparency concerning SBN demonetisation

I refer to the notification/s issued from time to time by your Department regarding the SBN withdrawal scheme and which frequently amend (for reasons not clear to citizens) the extents and office/s or agency/s of the Reserve Bank of India where these SBN notes continue to be legal tender.

As a person greatly affected by this demonetisation exercise which has eroded my faith and trust in the banking system and the institution of the Reserve Bank of India and its currency, I am constrained to request that you immediately place all the underlying recommendation/s of the Central Board of Reserve Bank of India u/s 26 of RBI Act 1934 in the public domain on your website for my perusal.

I am constrained to approach you directly for immediate suo-moto disclosure, since apparently your Department is the present holder / custodian of these RBI recommendations, which are the "relevant facts for formulating important policies or announcing the decisions which affect public". (see section 4(1)(c) Right to Information Act 2005). Hence this request for suo moto transparency in larger public interest.

sincerely
